Unique geological wonders

Another fascinating feature of Española Island is its unique geological wonder—a geyser-like phenomenon that emerges not from volcanic activity, but from a tunnel. As waves of specific characteristics penetrate the tunnel, they surge out from a spout at the end, propelling water up to an astonishing 20 meters along the cliffs. Witnessing this spectacle provides not only a spectacular view but also a thrilling experience as the air currents created by the phenomenon embrace you.

Birdwatcher's paradies: Waved Albatross & more

Española Island is a true haven for seabirds, boasting an expansive area of 60 square kilometers and towering 206 meters above sea level. The Albatross colony is particularly captivating, as these incredible birds grace us with their presence from late April to early December, making it a unique and awe-inspiring sight to behold.

Moreover, keep an eye out for the remarkable Nazca Boobies, who have distinctive nesting areas separate from their Blue-Footed Booby counterparts. The island also hosts tropical birds residing in hidden caves, stunningly colored crabs that adorn the ebony lava landscapes, and the vibrant Swallow-tailed Gull. While exploring the trails of Española Island, you’ll encounter captivating creatures such as marine iguanas and lava lizards, adding to the rich biodiversity that thrives here.

Last but not least immerse yourself in crystal-clear waters
teeming with vibrant marine life, including red cardinal fish, sergeant majors, and Cortez rainbow wrasse. Marvel at sea stars, graceful sea  turtles, and, if you’re lucky, spot playful dolphins or majestic whales.

Your adventure awaits at either Punta Cevallos, Islote Tortuga & Manzanillo Beach, or Islet Gardner & Punta Suarez, depending on the day.

Española Island’s natural beauty and its reputation as a birdwatcher’s paradise make it an absolute must-visit destination.
